FORT CALHOUN, Neb. – The Lakeview Vikings got back to their winning ways on Friday, taking down Fort Calhoun 42-6.
Despite running back Lucas Thatcher out with an injury, the Vikings mustered up 380 rushing yards, with Jacob Frenzen leading the way with 129 and two touchdowns, Zeth Gerkensmeyer running for 100 yards and a touchdown and Jaden Johnson and Cadge Janssen combining for 142 yards and three touchdowns.
The Vikings averaged 6.9 yards per carry in the game at Fort Calhoun.
The defense held steady giving up just under 350 yards of total offense and recording three interceptions in the contest.
Lakeview QB Janssen only completed one pass for eight yards in the game.
The Vikings dominated time of possession, with Lakeview holding the ball nearly 15 more minutes than Fort Calhoun.
Lakeview will host defending state champion O’Neill next week.
