Lourdes Central Catholic Outlasts Lutheran High Northeast in D1 Semis

LINCOLN – Lourdes Central Catholic found their shot in the second half, breaking open a tie-game to beat Lutheran High Northeast in the Class D1 semi-finals 47-39.

After shooting 1-for-10 from three in the first half, the Knights hit four three-pointers in the third quarter to give themselves space on the upset-minded Eagles.

Lutheran High finished the game without their coach, Darin Suckstorf, who was disqualified in the 4th after picking up back-to-back technicals. LCC extended their lead from 4 to 10 after Suckstorf’s ejection.

Lourdes Central Catholic will look to win their second straight Class D1 state title against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Saturday.

Lutheran High Northeast will play in the 3rd place game against Randolph.
