Man jailed, accused of threatening to shoot police officer

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – A 26-year-old Grand Island man has been arrested on numerous charges including  threatening to shoot a police officer.

Police Captain Jim Duering says Jose Ignacio Lugo Parra was seen driving in the wrong direction on Saturday night.

According to authorities, when told to pull over Parra took off nearly causing an accident near 1st and Oak streets, where he fled on foot and was caught in a nearby yard.

Police also tells us, Parra threatened to shoot one of the officers when he gets out of jail.

Parra faces several charges, including fleeing to avoid arrest, terrorist threats, driving under the influence, obstruction a police officer, resisting arrest, driving in the wrong direction, and failing to yield the right of way.
