OMAHA, Neb. – The Columbus football team suffered their first loss of 2017 in a loss to #8 Omaha Skutt.
Skutt (4-2) took down #3 CHS 39-7 in Omaha on Friday night.
Columbus actually jumped to a 7-0 lead over the Skyhawks with QB Michael Koch delivering a 75 yard strike to Joey Braasch.
Skutt then scored six unanswered touchdowns over the next four quarters.
At one point in the 2nd quarter, the Discoverers were stopped at the one yard line and then Skutt turned around and drove 99 yards down the field for a score.
Koch went 8/14 for 192 yards and three interceptions with one touchdown pass. He ran for just 20 yards, his lowest total of the season.
CHS (5-1) will next host South Sioux City (0-6) next week.
