HAYS, KS – Shortly after a dramatic victory by their girls team, the Hanover boys team left little doubt in their state championship victory, defeating #1 Montezuma-South Gray, 60-36, to claim their sixth state title.
It is their second championship in three years for the Hanover Wildcats.
This state championship follows a state football championship this season, as well, for them.
The Wildcats dominated from the opening tip, expanding their lead over 20 in the fourth quarter over the top seed.
Their offense was led by Michael Jueneman’s 26 points. Will Bruna also added 12 for Hanover.
Coach Kim Lohse had the opportunity to watch his daughter hit a shot to win the state championship right before the game, too.
Hanover finishes their season 24-2.
