Ronald George Lentz, son of George and Ella (Anders)Lentz, was born February 28, 1936, on a farm along Lost Creek northeast of Niobrara, Nebraska. As a young child, Ronald moved with his parents to a farm near Bloomfield, Nebraska, where he attended rural school through the seventh grade. Later, Ronald attended his eighth grade year at First Trinity School in Bloomfield, and went on to graduate from Bloomfield High School. After graduation, Ronald moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked for many years with Swanson Foods. Because of health reasons, Ronald returned to Bloomfield to care for his aging parents. After his father's death in 1987 and mother's death in 1999, Ronald continued to call Bloomfield his home. While he enjoyed spending time in his garden and at his home, Ronald also enjoyed watching the local sports teams and attending events in town. Although he did not have a family of his own, Ronald found much joy in watching his nieces and nephews grow up and being a part of their lives.
Ronald was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. He died Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Bloomfield Good Samaritan Society, at the age of 78.
Ronald is survived by his sisters and their families, Erma (husband Darrell) Schuett of Bloomfield (their children, Gloria Brink and husband Dave of Lincoln, Nebraska, Virginia Schmoldt and husband Mike of Schuyler, Bruce Schuett of California, Bryon Schuett and wife Darci of Wausa, Nebraska, and Brent Schuett and wife Lori of Texas), and Verlyn (husband Donald) Stoural of Verdigre, Nebraska (their children, Terry Stoural of Verdigre, Kieth Stoural and wife Pat of Bellevue, Nebraska, David Stoural of Arizona, Eric Stoural of Arkansas, and Kent Stoural of Verdigre); brother and his family, Neal Lentz of Spencer, Iowa (his children, Denise Lentz of Minnesota, and Kyle Lentz of Nevada); as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
