Memorial services for Gaylene Druyor, age 69 of Butte, Nebraska, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte, with the Reverend David Feddern officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte.
Brockhaus Funeral Home of Spencer, Nebraska, is in charge of arrangements.
Gaylene died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Osmond General Hospital in Osmond, Nebraska.
Gaylene Faye (Hoffman) Druyor, daughter of Henry Paul and Alma Helen (Miller) Hoffman, was born January 7, 1944, at Spencer, Nebraska. Gaylene grew up in the Butte, Nebraska area, where she attended and graduated from Butte High School. On June 6, 1964, Gaylene was married to Edsel W. "Bud" Druyor, Jr. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with five children: Ladawn Rena, Audra Lee, Bobbie J., Jennifer Dorothy, and Kelly Dean. Gaylene and Bud lived in Pierce, Nebraska, where they raised their family and worked until retirement, at which time, they moved back to Butte.
Gaylene was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte, having been baptized and confirmed there, and as an adult, was a member of the LWML group. In her free time, she loved camping and fishing, and always liked to brag about how she would catch more walleye than Bud. Gaylene also loved spending time with her family, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, had a love for owls, and enjoyed watching Husker Women's Volleyball.
Gaylene is survived by her husband of over 49 years, Bud Druyor of Butte, Nebraska; children, Ladawn (husband David) Blunck of Osmond, Nebraska, Audra (husband Donald) Huwaldt of Osmond, Bobbie (husband Arlan) Hingst of Emerson, Nebraska, Jennifer (husband Vernon) Haselhorst of Randolph, Nebraska, and Kelly (wife LeAnn) Druyor of Pierce, Nebraska; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Verlon (wife Judy) Hoffman of Butte, and their son, Jason; sister, Betty (husband Dean) Nightser of O'Neill, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Ruth Hoffman of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and her daughter, Angela Moss.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Garrett Nuesch; brothers, Donald Hoffman and Vernon Hoffman; and her beloved pet, Katie Mae.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
