Jane Wagner, 94, of Norfolk died at the Madison House on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Ray Wilke and Chris Asbury will officiate.
She was born Aug. 18, 1919, at Longmont, Colo., to Cyrus Bell and Fannie Orpha (Norris) Dillard. She graduated from Longmont High School. She was married to Walter H. Wagner May 5, 1939 at Longmont. They farmed in Madison County, southwest of Norfolk, until 1980 when they moved to Norfolk. Jane was very active in Grace Lutheran Church of Norfolk, Lutheran Northeast High School and the Norfolk Women's Club. She was well known in the region for her many years working in downtown Norfolk at JC Pennys, The Fair Store and later Stinson's clothing store. One of the highlights of her life was in 1996 when her son Cliff took her to Germany for Christmas to meet his German friends, while he was stationed in Japan. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Norfolk, Norfolk Women's Club and Lutheran High Northeast.
Survivors are son Cliff Wagner of Peoria, Ariz.; sisters Eunice and husband Dick Shephard of Longmont, Betty Stanton of Longmont, Ruby Madison of Lancaster, Calif., Darlene Moser of Tulsa, Okla.; grandsons Craig Wagner of Lincoln and Curtis Wagner of Chicago, Ill.; and Carol and husband Larry Janssen of Norfolk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, seven brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lutheran High Northeast, Norfolk.
