Violet A. Bernstrauch
Funeral services for Violet A. Bernstrauch, 94, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Reverend Ray Wilke and Reverend Christopher Asbury officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bernstrauch died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Violet was born January 6, 1920 at Ainsworth, Nebraska the daughter of Wilhelm and Lena Cords. She graduated from Ainsworth High School and then moved to Norfolk and worked for the Baldridge's Bakery.
Violet married Henry A. Bernstrauch on Octobe3r 14, 1942 in Norfolk. The couple started and operated the Wrecker & Repair Service from 1946 until 1992. She also sold and installed CB Radio's until she retired.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Violet is survived by her son Bill Bernstrauch of Norfolk and her daughter Lana Miller of Wolf Creek, Oregon, 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hank in 1992, two sisters and her son in-law Robert Rich.
