Karl L. Eddy



Services for Karl L. Eddy, 53, Norfolk, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Norfolk, with private family inurnment at a later date and the Rev. John Nelson officiating. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge.

He died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center, Norfolk.


He was born Sept. 27, 1960, at Camp Pendleton, Calif., to Kenneth G. and Karen C. (Schulte) Eddy. He attended schools in California, North Carolina and Nebraska. He received his GED in 1982 in California. He received his associate of arts degree from Northeast Community College, Norfolk, in 2010.

He married LuAnn Erb on Sept. 22, 2001, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Norfolk.

He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church of Norfolk and Caring Hearts Support Groups.

Throughout Karl's life in Norfolk, he worked for Pizza Hut, Lawnco Lawn Care Service for 18 years, and he was a certified nursing assistant at St. Joseph Rehab and Care Center and Culvers. He enjoyed doing landscaping to his yard, listening to music, playing his guitar and working on home improvement projects. Karl was a gentle, humorous and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

Survivors are wife LuAnn Eddy of Norfolk; daughter Jennifer and husband Gerardo Jaraz of Norfolk; son Kenny Eddy of Norfolk; grandsons Bradley and Chester and one future grandchild expected in August; mother Karen Eddy of Norfolk; brothers Kevin Eddy of Lincoln, Kelly and wife Carol Eddy of Pierce, Kerry and wife Gena Eddy of Norfolk, Kirk Eddy of Minnesota; sisters Karen Wayne and Kennette Rose Thornton of Nevada; 21 nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Shirley Erb of Orchard.

He was preceded in death by father Kenneth Eddy in 1985.

Music will be by organist Terri Hankins.

Casket bearers will be Aron Eddy, Kyle Eddy, Nicole Eddy, Dalton Eddy, Kyle Erb and Douglas Erb.
