Garold "Bud" Dahlheim
Funeral services for Garold V. "Bud" Dahlheim, 90, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Cindi Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals, Norfolk, Nebraska.
Mr. Dahlheim died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center surrounded by his family.
Garold Verlyn Dahlheim was born April 7, 1924 at Neligh the son of Gustave A. and Ida Mae (Sovereign) Dahlheim. He was the fourth of six children. He moved with his family to Norfolk where he graduated from Norfolk High School in 1944. He worked at Safeway as a meat cutter. He moved to Holdrege, Nebraska where he met LaVerne Miller.
Bud married LaVerne M. (Aldinger) Miller on November 30, 1952 in Norfolk. He worked at Montgomery Ward, Norfolk Daily News and Richard's for Men; ending his career at Faith Regional Hospital. Bud loved doing crafts to give to family members, family genealogy, collecting state coins and following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting activities.
Bud is survived by his children, Marcia (Miller) and her husband Norm Oliphant of Windsor, CO, Gregg and Pam Dahlheim of Norfolk, and Roxie and Scott Austin of Norfolk, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992, parents and siblings Helen Burnham, Dorathy McKenzie, Laurene Beyer, Donna Lawlis, and Harold Dahlheim.
