Memorial services for DeTroy Papstein, 85, of Andrews, Texas formerly of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk with Reverend Chip Winter officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with a flag presentation by Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Papstein died Monday May 12, 2013 at his son's home in Andrews, Texas.
Mr. Papstein was born April 16, 1929 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Edmond and Ruth Papstein. He graduated from Norfolk High School, Norfolk Junior College, and Midland College of Fremont. He served in the US Army. He married Jeannine Buettow December 20, 1955 in Norfolk, NE.
DeTroy worked as a pipeline supervisor.
He and Jeannine moved to Andrews earlier this year to be near their son. He enjoyed wood working and making canes out of golf clubs. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf and when he was younger he enjoyed hunting. He loved to spend time with his family. DeTroy was a life member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannine Papstein of Andrews; sons; Timothy (Cindy) Papstein of Omaha, NE; James Papstein of Andrews, TX; Mark Papstein of Aberdeen, SD; Thomas (Lisa) Papstein of Yankton, SD; his Aunt Maxine Seidenglanz, and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
