Mariann L. Stuhldreier

Funeral services for Mariann Stuhldreier, age 71 of Spencer, Nebraska, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Spencer. Pastor Glen Stahlecker will officiate, with burial in the National Cemetery in Spencer.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Mariann died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Center in Bloomfield, Nebraska.

Mariann Lea (Brightweiser) Stuhldreier, daughter of Lloyd and Edna (Watson) Brightweiser, was born March 12, 1943, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mariann grew up in the Omaha metro area where she attended and graduated from Benson High School in Omaha with the Class of 1961. In 1962, Mariann was married to Don Stuhldreier in Omaha, and to this union, the couple was blessed with two sons, Bart and Brett. Later, in 1969, Mariann was married to Leonard Fiala in Omaha, and the couple was blessed with a daughter, Brenda. Mariann and Leonard moved their family to Spencer, Nebraska, where they assumed the operation of the family farm after the death of Leonard's father.

While living in Spencer, Mariann was a homemaker and mother. Later, she worked as a bartender for several area establishments. In the past decade, Mariann worked for the William Krotter Company in their Spencer location.

Mariann was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Spencer. In her free time, she enjoyed horses, loved to sew and quilt, and spend time with her friends at the Boyd County Senior Center. Mariann died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Center in Bloomfield, Nebraska, attaining the age of 71 years, two months, and 22 days.

Mariann is survived by her children, Brett Stuhldreier of Commerce City, Colorado, and Brenda Stuhldreier of O'Neill, Nebraska; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bart Stuhldreier; brother, William Brightweiser; sister, Betty Jones; and parents, Lloyd and Edna Brightweiser.
