Marian L. Hansen
Graveside services for Marian Lucille Hansen, 86, of Stanton, formerly of Columbus, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, NE. Reverend Rodney Rixe will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Hansen died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Stanton Health Center in Stanton, NE.
Marian was born February 6, 1928 in Lincoln to Walter and Verna (Balster) Sanden. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She attended the University of Nebraska. She married Warren Hansen on September 18, 1947 in Inglewood California. She and Warren operated a photography studio in Inglewood. They moved back to Lincoln in 1948. She worked at Bankers Life until the birth of her second child in 1953. They moved to Columbus in 1956 and she lived there until 2012 when she entered the Stanton Health Center.
Marian was very artistic and creative and did a variety of crafts. She was a seamstress and sewed doll clothes for Teri Lee dolls when she lived in Lincoln. Through the years she sewed many of her own clothes as well as her children's. She loved collecting dolls and had quite a large collection. She even made her own porcelain dolls. She also had quite a green thumb and the house was filled with a variety of plants. She loved being a grandma and a great-grandmother.
Marian is survived by one daughter, Barb and Ken Kollath, two sons, Richard Hansen, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Robert Hansen, also of Iowa; two grandsons-Michael and Kristine Kollath, Reinbeck, IA, and Jeffrey Kollath, Deshler, NE; three granddaughters, Sara Hansen, Columbus, NE, Deborah and Matt Fleming, David City, NE, and Amanda and Eric Kasik, of Lincoln, NE; great grandchildren-Rilynn and Kaydence Fleming, Eli and Emmie Kasik, and Molly Kollath; one brother, Ray and Lois Sanden, of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hansen; her parents, Walter and Verna (Balster ) Sanden; two sisters, Carol Sanden and Dorothy Lee.
