Frederick D. Altstadt

Funeral services for Frederick "Butch" D. Altstadt, 68, of Norfolk will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Home for Funerals. Burial will be in New Lutheran Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 16, VFW Post 1644, U.S. Navy d Honor Guard. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Home for Funerals.
Mr. Altstadt died Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Golden Living Center.
Butch was born July 3, 1945 in Omaha and raised by his Aunt Kathryn Reeves of Norfolk. She was blessed with him when he was six weeks old. She was the only mother he ever knew.
He served in the U.S. Navy and received his GED while serving in the Navy.
Butch is survived by his mother, Kathryn Reeves of Norfolk, one son Kenneth Altstadt of Omaha, two daughters Dawn Kaut of Omaha and Shelly (Shawn) Conway of Alton, KS, one brother Clyde of Council Bluffs, IA, sisters, Gloria (Bob) Gulla of PA, and Pat Roberts of AZ, 8 grandchildren, and many other relatives including Ken and Phyllis of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by his son Scott David Altstadt and his wife Cynthia.
