COLUMBUS – One person was injured and one vehicle was totaled in an accident on 23rd Street, earlier this week.
CPD accident reports show a two vehicle collision took place at the intersection of 23rd Street and 45th Avenue on Monday, at approximately 4:39 p.m.
Reports say A 57-year-old Columbus man was heading southbound on 45th Avenue in a 2000 GMC SUV, with a green light at the intersection. A 77-year-old Columbus man was driving a Chevy pickup westbound on 23rd Street when they ran a red light. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.
The 77-year-old was cited for a traffic signal violation.
The pickup suffered $2,500 in damage, while the SUV was considered a total loss. The driver of the SUV was reportedly injured in the collision, but the extent of their injuries are unknown.
