FREMONT – The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce’s 138th Annual Banquet will be held this Friday.
This year at the banquet the Chamber will recognize and showcase nine local businesses that were named finalists for the organization’s annual awards. Executive Director of the Chamber Tara Lea says this year’s banquet theme will be centered around your typical awards show.
“We are making it very red carpet, this year,” said Lea. “It is the Oscars coming here to Fremont. We are going to show a video of all of our finalists. Then we’ll bring the envelope and a briefcase in to reveal who the winner is. And only the executive board knows who the winners are. No one else knows.”
The three awards this year are the Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and a new award named Workforce Game Changer. The finalists for the Large Business of the Year award are Don Peterson & Associates, Waste Connections, and PROMEDCARE. Dugan Funeral Chapel, Premier Staffing, and D&T Shirtified are the finalists for the Small Business of the Year award.
Lea says the new award is to highlight workforce, which she states is currently important in the Fremont community.
“Workforce is such a huge thing in Fremont right now, from finding the workforce and keeping your employees happy,” said Lea. “So we want to reward those companies who do go above and beyond to have employee satisfaction every day. The candidates for that are Nye Health Services, Wiese Plumbing, and RTG Medical.”
The 138th Annual Banquet will be held on Friday, February 9th. A few tickets can still be purchased by calling (402) 721-2641 or by going online to http://www.fremontne.org.
