COLUMBUS – Motorists should be cautious if traveling across the 48th Avenue train track crossing, which could be out of service for the rest of the week.
Columbus dispatchers say train officials having taken the crossing out of service, due to the issues moisture can cause with the crossings ability to function properly. Train engineers have been warned to stop when approaching the crossing at 48th Avenue, but motorists should be careful and aware when traveling in the area.
The crossing is located just off Highway 81 on the westside of the city.
The crossing will reportedly be reactivated when the moisture dries up, which could be as late as next week, due to the possibility for storms to hit the area throughout the remainder of the week.
