FREMONT – The Fremont City Council meeting has a full agenda for Tuesday evening.
The agenda includes accepting a $478,000 grant from Nebraska Environmental Quality to help pay for a new tree grinder/chipper. They will also be asked to approve a cooperative agreement with Blair for cost-sharing and shared use of the equipment.
Council members will consider the revised location for the lagoon site and construction, with the Community Development Agency providing $5.2 million in Tax Incremental Financing to contribute to the cost. The council will also be asked to authorize the City Attorney to negotiate with the land owner for the purchase of the lagoon site, and if negotiations fail, to further authorize the use of eminent domain to acquire the property.
The Fremont City Council meeting will begin with a study session at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
