Beatrice Man Charged With 4th Offense-DUI, Bound Over to District Court

BEATRICE – A Beatrice man found injured beside his wrecked vehicle last June, has been bound over to Gage County District Court on a felony charge of fourth-offense driving under the influence of alcohol.

A preliminary hearing was held in county court this week, for 35-year-old Jered Tiedeman.  He’s now been ordered to face arraignment in Gage County District Court, October 18th.  A judge ordered that he can only operate vehicles equipped with an ignition interlock device and must obtain an interlock permit from the DMV.

Last June 5th, law officers responded to an area along an S-curve on U.S. Highway 77 and Elm Road, south of Pickrell.  A Gage County Sheriff’s officer observed a heavily damaged 2007 Chevrolet Impala on its side, in a ditch.  About 30 feet south of the vehicle, Tiedeman was found unresponsive, but breathing.

A medical helicopter was summoned to the scene to transport Tiedeman to a Lincoln hospital, in critical condition.

According to court documents, Tiedeman has prior drunk driving convictions from Sarpy County in April 2012 and September of this year, and from Gage County in 2002.
