Beatrice Police Ticket Several, at Alcohol Party

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police broke up a large party involving alcohol consumption, after getting a complaint early Thursday morning.

Chief Bruce Lang says officers went to a rental house in the 600 block of North Ninth Street, shortly after midnight.

After receiving a noise complaint, officers discovered a large party going on at the location.

An officer suffered a bruise on the cheek after being struck, but was not seriously hurt. One person was cited for misdemeanor assault. A few people at the party fled the scene.

Chief Lang says local police haven’t seen as many large parties involving alcohol and high school age youth, over the past ten years.

In this case involving college-aged persons, about 28 were cited…several not from the Beatrice area.

Lang says no drugs were found at the gathering.
