Big Talent Coming for Great American Comedy Festival

NORFOLK, NE —The Great American Comedy Festival is back, and won’t disappoint according to Festival Chairman Mark Zimmerer.

“It’s an exciting show. Probably the highest level of talent, ever, at the festival this year. That doesn’t happen on its own either. We have a great committee and board who put it all together…”

The festival began as a tribute to Carson back in 2008, featuring magic, standup comedy and other events.

It’s been 25 years since Johnny Carson stepped down as host of “The Tonight Show” and to mark that the Great American Comedy Festival is brining a special treat to Norfolk.

“We have the top past writers of the Tonight Show and Nebraska’s own Dick Cavett who will be the moderator. He was also a writer of the Tonight Show show. We have an opportunity for the community to see what happens behind the scene on the tonight show.”

The writers will be on stage at the Johnny Carson Theatre on June 17. It will be a free 90 minute event.
