Bob’s Bar To Crown New ‘Burger Boss’ During 4th Annual Burger Eating Contest Saturday

PONCA – Bob’s Bar is sponsoring their 4th annual burger eating contest during the Missouri River Expo at Ponca State Park on Sunday, September 17th.

Bob’s Bar, in Martinsburg, is well known for their massive 10.5-ounce burgers. During the burger eating contest held at the river-front main event tent, participants need to wolf down a burger, an order of Bob’s Bar’s fries and a large drink. The person who can consume the meal the fastest will be crowned the 2017 Burger Boss.

Pre-registration for the contest starts at 2 p.m. with chow-down at 2:15. Contestants must be 18 years old or older. There is a limited number of burgers so it will be the luck of the draw to see who will compete, according to Ponca State Park events coordinator, Lynn Mellick.

“What we’ll do is put their names into a hat and we’ll randomly draw out 10 contestants,” Mellick said.

Along with the Burger Boss title, if a contestant can beat the 2016 speed record of 4 minutes and 51 seconds, they will receive a free night’s stay in one of Ponca State Park’s mini lodges.
