Bond Reduction Denied for Neligh Man in Alleged Sexual Assault

MADISON, NE — Bond has been denied for a Neligh man facing sexual assault charges in two counties.

51-year old Darryl Lierman will stay behind bars at the Madison County Courthouse after Judge Ross Stoffer denied a bond reduction.

Lierman is charged already with a handful of child abuse charges and sexual assaults of a child in Antelope County. In Madison County Lierman has two charges of sexual assault of a child and one child abuse charge.

Lierman’s Public Defender, Matthew Headley requested a personal recognizance bond and to remove a no contact order.

Madison County Attorney Joe Smith disagreed with the terms saying that Lierman is likely not to show up after making comments that he, “wouldn’t be taken alive again.”

According to dated court documents and Smith, when Lierman was last out on bond in 2011, he sexually assaulted a child. Smith told the court that Lierman is not only a danger to himself but others.

Lierman’s bond was continued at $500,000.
