Building Reconstruction to Affect Norfolk Traffic

NORFOLK – Another section of Norfolk Avenue will be limited to drivers next week.

City officials say workers will be installing a fire line at the old Delay Bank Building at the corner of 4th Street and Norfolk Avenue beginning Monday.

The City says the work will mean the westbound lanes of Norfolk Avenue from 4th to 5th will be closed. They expect the closure to remain in place for about a week.

The work is related to the ongoing redevelopment of the Delay Building. The Norfolk Community Development Agency will discuss approving tax increment financing in two redevelopment agreements for the building.

City documents show the developers are planning a substantial redo of half of the building, which features both commercial and residential space.
