Carhart Lumber Thanks Community During Chamber Coffee

WAYNE – A company originally founded in Wayne will be celebrating 100 years in 2021, as Carhart Lumber Company hosted Friday morning Chamber Coffee.

Located at 105 Main Street in Wayne, brothers Charles E and Arthur (Ben) Carhart incorporated the company. Both had previously owned and sold several Nebraska lumberyards in Carroll, Brunswick, Orchard and Osmond prior to locating in Wayne.

Brenda Carhart joined the company in 2013 and is the current vice president. She said Carhart would like to thank the community as employees were also recognized.

“Thank our customers for helping up be in business 96 years, this year,” said Carhart. “So, I think we all get so busy in our daily lives of coming and going and getting the sales and serving the customers that sometimes we forget to stop and say thank you.”

Carhart Lumber in Wayne has about seven employees with some of the full time positions being held by Mike Kaup (Inside Sales), Mike McManigal (Manager) and Josh Tvrdy (Retail Sales). The company also has a few part-time college students.
