Chamber Coffee Scheduled For A Main Street Business

WAYNE – As Main Street of downtown Wayne keeps growing, another business has had their doors open since the summer and will be hosting a ribbon cutting event Friday.

This week’s Friday morning Chamber Coffee is scheduled for September 8 at 10 a.m. Located at 311 Main Street, Highway 15 Salvage Company will be the host site welcoming in community members.

Dan and Teresa Tiedtke purchased the building a couple of years ago as at first it was for Dan’s cabinetry and finished workshop set up in the back and the front was rented out . Dan said he is trying to find a balance between his construction and the store but explained how the process will go.

“Primarily, stuff will come in the back door and go out the front door,” said Dan. “If we need to make something, repair something, repurpose something, I’ll do it back there and we’ll bring it to the front.”

Highway 15 Salvage opened their doors on July 5 leading into Chicken Days this past summer. Both say, “so far so good.”

“People are interested in seeing what we’e doing and we’ve had some definite custom items to do as well,” Teresa added.

“Right, we’ve both has some custom jobs to do,” said Dan. “Yeah, that’s kind of what we want to go for,” said Teresa.

Following the purchase, a remodeling phase was held. With the prior business being a nails salon, the ceiling was raised, new wood flooring was installed and they gutted about 60-feet of the building.

Royal Nails and a pawn shop were in the building prior to being remodeled into Highway 15 Salvage Company.

The group does accept consignment, but with the limited space Highway 15 Salvage Company has it’ll depend on the items coming in.
