City Wants Public Input, Before Extending Recycle Contract with Shred Monster

COLUMBUS –  A  motion to extend a contract with Shred Monster, to handle the city’s residential recycling, was postponed until public input can be gathered.

Mayor Jim Bulkley says they are planning to discuss the issue further at the city council’s upcoming meeting on July 2nd, and says they hope to get feedback so the proper decision can be made.

“Is it needed? Is there anything we could do to be increasing the tonnage? Are people satisfied with what we got, and willing to understand that it costs some money?” says Bulkley.

Columbus residents can talk with their city councilmen about the issue, or give their input at the upcoming meeting in July.
