Columbus Man Facing Three Separate Felony Theft Charges Heads to Court this week

COLUMBUS, Neb. – A Columbus man who is already facing a sentencing hearing in October for strangulation, is going to Platte County court this week on three separate theft charges.

25-year-old Bryton Wegner faces two counts of theft of $500 or less and one county of theft by deception.

Accvording to court documents, the theft by deception charge stems from an incident with a Columbus bank that occurred between June 9th and June 13th. Court records say the other two theft counts stem from two incidents on June 4th, when a Columbus gas station reported two gas drive-offs, totaling over $45.

All charges are upgraded to felonies because Wegner has been convicted of theft twice in Platte County.

He will be in court on September 13th for the three charges.

Wegner will also be sentenced on a strangulation conviction on October 20th.
