Columbus Man Originally Charged with Possessing Meth, Now Charged with Dealing the Drug

COLUMBUS, Neb. – A Columbus man will head to court on Wednesday with harsher drug charges than he initially faced.

26-year-old Justin Cox is charged with delivery of meth, possession of meth and misdemeanor marijuana possession. Cox was originally charged with possession of meth and pot possession, but charges were amended in July after Cox failed to appear in court in June.

Court records say that police search Cox’s Columbus home on a warrant and found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The documents say Cox later told police he has used and sold meth.

If convicted on both felony counts, Cox faces a max of 52 years in prison, with a minimum of one year on the delivery charge.
