WAYNE – October is yet another busy month for members of the Wayne Elementary Boosters with two events scheduled for the week of October 9.

First on Tuesday, October 10, enjoy Runza Night supporting the Wayne Elementary School. Between 5 – 8 p.m. Runza will donate 15% of all sales from dine-in, carry-out and drive-thru to the school.

Last Spring (2016), $505 alone was raised from the event. Wayne Elementary staff will be volunteering in the dining room as WEB will also be selling car decals and wall stickers featuring Lil’ Blue for $3 each.

Then, Dean Jacobs will return to the Wayne Elementary School on Thursday, October 12 to present two sessions of “All Things Amazon.”

Jacobs, a world explorer and Fremont-native will share his six-month long journey exploring the Amazon rain forest of South America.

Along with the two morning assemblies, Jacobs will also enjoy lunch with a small group and conduct writing workshops for specific grades. Parents are welcome to attend his presentations for grades third through sixth at 8:10 a.m. and grades kindergarten through second at 9:25 a.m.

Wayne Elementary Boosters is the proud sponsor of this event, making it Jacobs’ fourth visit to Wayne Elementary. To learn more about Jacobs, visit his website at www.deanjacobs.org.
