CPD Finds Stolen Four-Wheeler, Arrest One Person After Long Pursuit through Town

COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Columbus Police found one of the ATV’s that was stolen over the weekend after a cross-town pursuit.

A 2004 yellow Honda four-wheeler was returned to owner Rick Hurner after Columbus Police recovered it from a person arrested mid-afternoon on Monday.

The four-wheeler was returned in “terrible” shape as Hurner tells News Channel Nebraska that the ATV has bent handlebars, three ruined rims, scratches from concrete, torn off stickers and he says the engine “does not sound good”, among other issues.

While the exact details are unclear, Hurner says the police told him that the police initially began pursuing the person near North Park Elementary and eventually made the arrest around 8th St. and 26th Ave.
