Criminal Mischief Case Sees $1,500 in Damages

FREMONT – Multiple vehicles were damaged due to a case of criminal mischief.

According to Lt. Ed Watts with the Fremont Police Department, at approximately 8 a.m. on Wednesday a criminal mischief report was made in the 1300 block of Watson Street. It was reported that three vehicles parked in the area were damaged when an unknown person or persons slashed tires on the vehicles. There are no suspects and damage was estimated at $1,500.

Also numerous traffic stops resulting in citations and arrests were conducted after officers observed vehicles being driven with expired license plates.

At 10 a.m. 43-year-old Melissa K. Wagner of Fremont was cited for Driving during Suspension and No Proof of Insurance following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of W. 23rd Street.

At noon 45-year-old John E. Miller of Omaha was arrested for Driving with a Revoked License, No Valid Registration, and No Proof of Insurance after a traffic stop in the 3000 block of E. 23rd Avenue.

And at 2 p.m. 58-year-old James L. Smeal of Fremont was arrested for Driving with a Revoked License following a traffic stop in the 600 block of N. L Street.

Also at 12:45 p.m. a hit and run property damage accident was reported in the 700 block of N. H Street. It was reported that a 1964 Buick Regal was parked and unattended when it was struck by another vehicle. The second vehicle was driven away from the scene. Damage to the victim’s car was estimated at $1,000. There is no description of the second vehicle or its driver.
