FREMONT – Hundreds of adults and kids lined up to take part in the FREEmont Community Resource Fair on Wednesday.
Hosted by the Dodge County Collaborative Team, the FREEmont Community Resource Fair featured many different booths set up with information and fun things for kids. President of Dodge County Collaborative Team and Executive Director of Three Rivers Health Department, Terra Uhing says the event showcased the different resources available in the community.
“The purpose of this is to basically educate and empower the individuals that live within our community,” said Uhing. “It’s so that they can learn more about some of the terrific services that are available here locally.”
Uhing adds there were three components to the event.
“The first part is the actual resource fair. So we have about between 25 and 30 non-profit organizations that are signed up that will have tables there, giving out information,” said Uhing. “Then we also have what we call operation backpack, where we have an allotted number of backpacks that will be available for kids K-12.”
The third component was a free showing of the Emoji Movie, sponsored by Pinnacle Bank, for those who had completed the Resource Passport at the event.
