Colder Canadian air will move into the area today, leading to a chance of snow late tonight (Tuesday) into Wednesday morning and lower temperatures through Thursday.
There is a 40% chance of snow for Nebraska City, Syracuse and Shenandoah and the area could receive around an inch through Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service office in Valley said. Forecasters said Auburn, Tecumseh and Rock Port have a 30% chance of snow, while a 20% chance is expected for Falls City, Pawnee City and Mound City.
It appears the brunt of the snow will be found north of I-80. A winter weather advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday for portions of northeast and east-central Nebraska, including Sarpy and Douglas Counties. 2-5″ of snow is forecast for the region.
Highs today (Tuesday) will be near 36. The region will drop to 26 degrees on Wednesday before approaching 32 degrees and Thursday and 57 on Friday.
