Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Will Sport New Shoulder Patches

FREMONT – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is participating in an additional fundraiser to support cancer research this year.

In November the sheriff’s office participates in No Shave November to raise money for cancer research. This year Sheriff Steve Hespen says their office along with FOP Lodge #17 will be helping to raise money during the month of October.

“In conjunction with No Shave November, in October you’ll see the deputies sporting a different shoulder patch,” said Hespen. “We’ve had them redesigned. It’s basically the same patch, but we’ve had some of the lettering done in pink. We have a couple of pink ribbons on it. And it’s kind of a national program to support breast cancer.”

Anyone interested in buying one of the pink shoulder patches for $10 can pick one up at 428 N. Broad Street in Fremont between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All the proceeds will go to Project Pink’d. Anyone with questions can contact Sgt. Weitzel at (402) 727-2700 ext. 504.
