NORFOLK – Norfolk Police say an Omaha teen reached speeds over 90 miles per hour and caused property damage while trying to elude law enforcement early Friday.

As the officer tried to pull the vehicle over, it sped off. Another officer saw the same vehicle a short while later and clocked it traveling 91 mph in a 35 mph zone on North 1st Street.

Capt. Bauer says the driver of the vehicle lost control on N. 1st, damaging fencing on both sides of the road before coming to rest in a yard at the corner of 1st and Cedar.

Police say after the accident the driver, identified as Henderson, was taken into custody without further incident. He faces numerous charges, including felony flight to avoid arrest and minor in possession of alcohol.
