NORFOLK, NE — Norfolk first responders were in the lime light Monday evening.
At Norfolk’s City Council meeting the Norfolk Morning and Noon Optimist Club recognized an outstanding member from the Norfolk Police Department as well at Norfolk Fire and Rescue.
President of the Noon Optimist Club, Mark Claussen said that both the clubs have a long history of honoring first responders.
That being said, the first honoree was out of the police department.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Captain Redding was honored as well.
Claussen goes on to say that one of the five missions they have is to inspire respect for law officials. State Patrol Captain Paul Hattan was also awarded the honor, but is on vacation and unable to attend.
