FPD Makes DUI Arrest after Resident Shows Excess of .150 on Breath Test

FREMONT – A Fremont resident was arrested for Driving under the Influence after passing out in a vehicle.

According to Lt. Ed Watts with the Fremont Police Department, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday 50-year-old Monte G. Harner of Fremont was arrested and charged with DUI with an excess of .150 and Possession of an Open Container. The arrest followed a report of a driver passed out in a vehicle on E. Military Avenue and Highway 275. Harner showed signs of impairment consistent with the consumption of alcohol and failed a breath test.

Also at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday 47-year-old Russell Johnson was arrested and charged for Driving during Suspension and Driving Over an Unprotected Fire Hose. The arrest came after Johnson was observed operating a motor vehicle and driving over a fire hose that had been laid across the street at the scene of a house fire in the 300 block of N. Maple Street. Johnson had eight prior arrests for Driving during Suspension.

On Sunday at 1:25 p.m. 42-year-old Amy J. Zautke of Fremont was cited for Theft by Failure to Return Lost/Misplaced Property. Zautke was observed taking a gift card from a checkout stand, located in a retail store in the 800 block of E. 23rd Street, that another customer had left behind. Zautke then used the card to make unauthorized purchases.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. Pascual Mateo Felipe, 37, of Fremont was also cited for Theft by Failure to Return Lost/Misplaced Property. Felipe was found to have possession of a cellphone that was left on a checkout stand by another customer inside of a business located in the 2800 block of E. 23rd Avenue.

And at 5:40 p.m. on Sunday 44-year-old Orlando Venegas of Fremont was arrested and charged with No Operator’s License after he was observed operating a motor vehicle which was involved in a property damage accident in the 2300 block of N. Bell Street. Officers learned Venegas had five prior arrests for driving without an operator’s license.
