Inmate Found ‘Unresponsive’ in Cell

TECUMSEH – An inmate at the state prison in Tecumseh was found “unresponsive” is his cell Saturday, according to Communications Director Dawn-Renee Smith.

Smith says around 7:45 p.m. the prisoner, Terry Berry, who was not breathing was immediately given CPR by Tecumseh staffers.

 Berry was transported to Johnson County Hospital and then to Bryan West in Lincoln.

Smith says it was Berry’s cellmate who alerted the staff. The case remains under investigation.
