Judge Grants Sentencing Delay in Gage County Drug Case

BEATRICE – A Gage County District Judge reluctantly granted a delay in sentencing Wednesday, for a female convicted of drug possession who failed to appear last month, for sentencing.

Amber Pedersen will now be sentenced April 14th, on convictions of possessing methamphetamine and cocaine.  Her attorney asked for the sentencing delay and a personal recognizance bond.  Judge Rick Schreiner left the bond set at $10,000.

Schreiner granted the delay in sentencing, ordering Pedersen to meet and cooperate with state probation to finish the pre-sentence investigation.

Deputy Gage County Attorney Callyn Schuck had recommended probation in the case, but pulled that recommendation after Pedersen failed to appear for sentencing, February 23rd.   She also said the pre-sentence investigation report was brief because Pedersen did not cooperate with state probation.
