WAYNE – The 39th annual KTCH/KCTY Easter Egg Hunt came to an end Thursday afternoon.

Program Director, Dan Baddorf created a weeks’ worth of clues which listeners and “hunters” used to locate the so called “egg”. The first part was announced in the morning and the full clue was said in the afternoon with previous day clues found at participating sponsors.

The egg was a small-black pocket comb which was stuck in the ground by a cable junction box at the southeast corner of Grainland Road and 575th Avenue.

Mark Kanitz, a two-time winner, found the comb Thursday afternoon.

“I was on my way to a meeting and I had about five minutes to spare and Lukas was waiting for me at one of the stores,” said Kanitz. “I was a smidge late, but it was well worth it.

Dan Baddorf and Final Touch manager Paula Gemelke presented Mark Kanitz with his prizes Thursday.

Kanitz will receive a $500 room makeover from the Final Touch, a $100 certificate from Discount Furniture and other prizes from all the participating sponsors.

All explanations for the clues can be found at participating sponsors.

“Somehow, I knew that we were looking for a comb, maybe a Barbie comb or something small that would fit in my hand,” Kanitz added. “And having found it one time before I knew it wouldn’t be real large, it was kind of plain sight but you do have to kind of look a little bit.”
