LifeServe Blood Center Calling For Public to ‘Drain Veins’ In October

PONCA – Three area communities are hosting blood drives in the coming days. LifeServe Blood Center is getting in the Halloween spirit by asking residents of Ponca, Newcastle and Coleridge to “save lives by draining your veins.”

The series of blood drives kicks off in Ponca on Thursday, October 12th. From 3-6 p.m. LifeServe will be set up in the Ponca Community Hall at 119 West 3rd Street. On Friday the 13th LifeServe moves on to Newcastle, where blood donations will be taken at St. Peter’s Fellowship Hall at 407 Annie Street from 3-6 p.m. Coleridge will have their chance to help the national blood supply on Monday, October 16th from 3-6 p.m. at the community center at 111 S. Main Street.

Those wanting to donate blood must weigh at least 120 pounds, be in generally good health and be at least 16 years of age. Visit LifeServe’s website, lifeservebloodcenter.org to sign-up before the drive or call 800-287-4903.
