FREMONT – A Fremont woman faces a felony drug charge after a traffic stop turned up drugs early Friday morning.
Fremont Police conducted the stop in the 2000 block of N. Nye Avenue at approximately 2:12 a.m. Friday with a K-9 unit dispatched to the stop. The K-9 alerted officers to the presence of drugs and officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. As a result, 23-year old Cassandra J. Rains of Fremont was cited for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, a Fremont man is arrested and cited after two contacts with the Fremont Police Department on Thursday.
Fremont Police were called to a residence in the 300 block of W. 5th Street at approximately 11:19 a.m. Thursday when a man was sitting on a porch in that location, but was unknown to the residents of the home and refused to leave. Officers made contact with the man and he eventually walked away. However, officers were called a short time later to a disturbance where that same man was sitting in the middle of H Street, causing vehicles to swerve around him.
The man refused to cooperate with officers on H Street and was placed under arrest. 20-year old Reynaldo A. Lopez of Fremont faces charges for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
Officers are also investigating damage done to a pickup on Thursday evening in Fremont.
Police were called to the 1600 block of N. I Street in reference to a windshield that had been smashed on a 1994 Chevy S-10 pickup. It’s unclear when the damage occurred or who is responsible. Damage is estimated at $150.
