Local Hebron Boy Gets His Wish Granted by Make-A-Wish

HEBRON -“Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.”

Tough words for 9-year-old Aiden Mostek to pronounce, and an even tougher cancer that he’s had to battle this past year.

Aiden says, “We had to go to Omaha and get chemo every week.”

“He has been through 54 weeks of chemo,” Aiden’s mother Jennifer Mostek told News Channel Nebraska. “He’s been through 6 weeks of proton radiation. We had to go to Chicago – stay in Chicago 6 weeks for that and surgery.”

Aiden recently received good news when his scans came back clear in March and to add to that celebration, his wish was recently granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“Now since we’re done with that, we got to go with Make-A-Wish and meet a YouTuber.”

Aiden began to admire the popular YouTuber Stampylongnose when he began searching the internet to learn how to better play his favorite video game of Minecraft.

Jennifer says, “Whenever it would be really hard during a lot the treatment he would start to get a bad attitude or we were just really having a hard time, we would imagine what his wish was going to be. It’s changed a few times of the course of 15-16 months and he finally settled on meeting Stampylongnose.”

The family got to fly out to London where they toured the city and met Stampy. Aiden and Stampy got to talk and play video games for a couple of hours in a private room of a bowling alley.

How is Aiden feeling today with better health and experiencing the trip of his dreams?

Aiden says, “Yeah, I’m doing pretty good.”
