Lucas Hitch, MEDIC Make Columbus Stop to Entertain CPS Students

COLUMBUS – In an effort to expand students ideas about the possible career options music can offer, a band has been making the rounds to the different CPS music classes.

Lucas Hitch and the band MEDIC visited the choir and band classes at both CMS and CHS on Thursday and Friday. Students at CMS got a chance to see the band up close and personal on Friday morning, with an intimate concert.

CMS Choir Teacher Celeste Ditter is friends with Lucas Hitch, who she initially asked to visit her class 7 years ago

“About 3 or 4 years ago he said, I’m on tour with this band, and their name is MEDIC, and they’re amazing. Can I bring them with? And I’m like they better be amazing. Im like okay, bring them, and we’re so glad they did, because we love MEDIC, just as much as we love Lucas,” says Ditter.

Ditter says she likes being able to bring in song writers and musicians, so that students can see that being a music teacher, is not the only career that music can offer.

Lucas Hitch is a native of Nebraska and Ditter says not only will the band be playing at the schools, but also at a concert they are holding at Word of Life Church. The Concert begins Friday night at 7 p.m., and tickets are $6 at the door.
