NORFOLK, NE — A man was beaten and robbed Tuesday night, after an apparently unpaid petty debt turned violent.
Norfolk Police were called to Faith Regional Health Services to investigate an assault. When they arrived they found a male victim with bruising on both eyes, his left eye almost swollen shut. The man also told police he lost a tooth during the assault.
The man told police he was at a friends house in Norfolk when 59-year old Reginald B. Carpenter took his car keys after accusing him of stealing $40.
Police say the victim and two witnesses all described the same series of events.
Carpenter was arrested for robbery and held at the Norfolk City Jail before being transferred to the Madison County Jail.
