Midland Kicks Off Holiday Season with Colors of Christmas

FREMONT – Midland University is once again kicking off the holiday season with the Colors of Christmas concert on Sunday.

The Colors of Christmas concert features performances by all of Midland University’s performing arts students involved in the university vocal and instrumental groups. The Midland NAIA national champion dance team will also perform. Communications Content Manager at Midland Tracy Buffington says this concert is always their favorite way to get into the holiday spirit.

“It’s a great way to start off the holiday season. We’re also able to bring in some special guests,” said Buffington. “This year we brought in Delene McConnaha, Ryan Dusso, and the Pathfinder Chorus.”

Delene McConnaha is a life-long performer who has sung classical and operatic music professionally for nearly two decades. The Pathfinder Chorus is a multiple Central States District AAA Chorus Champion chorus based in Fremont. Buffington says the university is very excited to have Ryan Dusso, a Midland alum, back on the campus.

“We’re glad to have him back on campus. Ryan teaches music at Clarkson Public Schools,” said Buffington. “He leads the elementary band and high school choir. He’s just a very talented young man, and he showed that when he was here on campus. We’re really glad to have him back singing as part of the Colors of Christmas this year.”

There is no admission to the Colors of Christmas, but a freewill donation will be accepted. The concert will be held in the Wikert Event Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
