WAKEFIELD – Wakefield American Legion Auxiliary is hosting their popular Ladies Night Out on Monday, September 18th at the Wakefield Legion Hall.
Area women can get a jump start on holiday shopping from 5-7:30 Monday night. Ladies Night Out will feature 24 vendors ranging from commercial products to homemade crafts. Each vendor has donated items for door prize drawing every half hour. There will even be a special presentation from an area business to help give attendees some holiday décor ideas, according to Ladies Night Out chair, Leslie Bebee.
“At 6:30, we’ll have a program that Greta from Flowers & Wine is doing for us on decorating Christmas trees,” Bebee said.
Though the event is only two and a half hours, it’s a great opportunity to socialize, have a light meal and grab a drink for a good cause.
“A lot of ladies just sit and visit, the bar would be open if somebody would care to have a drink and it’s a lot of socializing – just a night out an it supports the projects that the Legion Auxiliary does,” Bebee said.
Some of those projects include Legion Hall maintenance, sponsoring a student for Girl’s State, scholarships and Veteran’s Home projects. No RSVP is required and the suggested donation at the door is $8. Bebee said the Auxiliary is hoping for 150 people to visit Ladies Night Out, and that everyone should be able to have a great time.
“If you don’t have anyone to come with, you can come alone because there will be a lot of people there and the vendors are always very social, visiting, and it’s just a fun, enjoyable night for ladies,” Bebee said.
