NORFOLK, NE- Classic soul with a dash of R&B will get the annual Music In The Park started off the right way.
Music In The Park at Skyview Lake from 6-9:30 is an annual event, but also is apart of Norfolk’s 150th birthday festivities.
The night will begin with The National Anthem sung by Greek Opera and Crossover Artist, Markella Hatziano. Following Hatziano is Emily Johnson Band out of Sioux City, who will be the main performer Thursday night. Emily Johnson Band has blues and rock roots, incorporating soul and R&B in her music. Abby Nicole, a Norfolk local will also be performing Thursday.
Chair of Rotary Club, Stan Christiansen said, “It should be areat event, we got a brand new dance floor that got donated. Wine and beer along with adult beverages are allowed. You can also bring your own food. There’s no charge for the event, kids can run and play and have fun. It’s a safe environment and should be a great event.”
During the first break of the night, Norfolk Mayor Sue Fuchtman will be speaking during Music In The Park about the 150th celebrations.
At the 8:30 break soldiers will be honored with a musical selection by Kimberly Meyer of Royal.
